For young children, the primary goal is teaching them that AI technologies like smart speakers are not sentient beings. This makes sense; kids at this age often attribute human feelings to inanimate objects, and one study found some children believe smart speakers have their own thoughts. By high school, students are often technically proficient with AI tools but may take their outputs at face value. The educational goal is to teach them the inherent limitations of AI, including its inaccuracies and potential for misuse.
